During my trip to Manhattan on the Express bus one morning, I had the pleasure to read the March issue of Allure magazine and the society. I started to read the letter from the editor Linda Wells and puzzled on this slogan, “search for beauty. Linda explains this phenomenon is very similar to the pursuit of the American dream. Is “a right to fix and improve us necessary, mentally and physically … that transcends gender, class, race, age and sexual orientation”. I thought: ‘ this is so true! What person today isn’t going to be and feel beautiful? There is no doubt that we as people are very sensitive to our physical appearances and will do everything in order to get or keep our personal beauty. Our insatiable need for all things “beauty” shows that we are all in full hunting and unapologetically so.According to dictionary.com is “quality in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind.” This emotional link with the explain why beauty plays an important role in our lives. We cannot help ourselves in the presence of people or things that call our sensitivity. Physical beauty, while a matter of taste and opinion are also characterized by views of the company. In most cultures, the presence of symmetry or balance a decisive key of beauty, because it implies the absence of “error” or “error”. Facial balance, color, the shape of the body and size, as well as young people are all standards of beauty. Whether we acknowledge it or not, and if we, consciously or unconsciously, this type of “lookism” has plagued our society for years and can enlighten us on the depth of superficiality that exists in our world today.This formidable truth really affects how we perceive ourselves as well as others. Pictures watching TV even decide what we feel to be beautiful and is the driving force to this quest for perfection. We spend thousands of dollars and now insurmountable shopping online or in malls, buying all kinds of beauty products, do your nails, hair, facial and botox appointments, read fashion magazines, and notes in particular of what our favorite characters, wear, do and helps to stay thin young and Yes, bella.Don’t forget that there was once a time when we all mistificate beautiful models and celebrities like impeccably went on the red carpet and tiles without effort covers of magazines, or so it seemed. We wanted to be and those who resemble them, thinking that they are born in this way. We can all be physically beautiful!
